MoynanSmith Speaks on Making Tax Digital Ahead of 1st April Deadline to News and Star
Our own Darren Moynan spoke to the News and Star for an article published on Friday 29th March 2019.
The article focuses on the impending Making Tax Digital initiative and the low adoption rate among Cumbrian businesses.
MTD will come into effect for VAT-registered businesses with taxable turnover in excess of £85,000 from Monday 1st April 2019, with other businesses expected to get onboard by April 2020.
Although 15,948 businesses in Cumbria are VAT-registered and above the required turnover, according to HMRC statistics only 362 have completed MTD registration so far.
